The 56077BA is an exceptionally rare factory gem-set execution, crafted in 18k yellow gold with diamonds set across both the dial and the iconic octagonal bezel, all done by AP from new. Factory-set Royal Oaks like this were produced in tiny numbers and are seldom seen today, especially in such an extravagant configuration. What makes it so charming is that beneath all the diamonds, Genta’s original industrial design is still completely intact, from the exposed bezel screws to the integrated gold bracelet. It feels less like a conventional sports watch and more like AP experimenting with where the Royal Oak could go, somewhere between watchmaking and high jewellery.
