Built for explorers and adventurers, the Explorer II was originally introduced in 1971 for spelunkers and polar expeditions, where distinguishing day from night is crucial. The fixed 24-hour bezel and independent GMT hand allow for tracking a second time zone or maintaining a clear AM/PM reference. This no-pinhole case version is a later and cleaner evolution, and this full set example makes it an increasingly collectible and functional tool watch.
