A true unicorn from Franck Muller’s golden era, the 5850 CC DF Double Face Chronograph is among the brand’s most elusive and sought-after creations. According to CEO Nicholas Rudaz, these double-sided chronographs were commissioned by an Italian retailer in the 1990s and produced in an extremely limited series of around 40–50 pieces, with case No. 17 documented at a Phillips auction. Inspired by the Patek Philippe Tasti Tondi, this early creation reimagines the chronograph with an oversized seconds counter on the reverse — a feature typically found on pocket watches — and is housed in Muller’s signature Cintrée Curvex case.
