One of the more historically significant modern Speedmasters Omega produced before the recent wave of heritage reissues. The FOIS pays tribute to the CK2998 worn by Wally Schirra during the first time an Omega travelled into space, bringing back the straight-lug case and pre-Moon proportions that differ noticeably from a standard Moonwatch. Powered by the proven calibre 1861 and produced as a numbered edition, each watch carries its own unique caseback number. This example has been fitted with genuine Omega white alpha hands in place of the original rhodium-plated handset, giving it a look closer to certain vintage calibre 321-era Speedmasters, and is paired with an aftermarket flat-link bracelet.
