Just serviced in house (march 2026). Unveiled in the mid-1990s, the Credor Signo GBBD998 represents a special chapter in Seiko’s pursuit of haute horlogerie. Part of the Credor line—established in 1974 to showcase the pinnacle of Japanese watchmaking—this elegant 18K yellow gold reference is powered by the ultra-thin hand-wound Caliber 6899A measuring just 1.98mm, and holds the distinction of being Japan’s first commercially produced skeleton movement. The movement is beautifully hand-engraved throughout, including traditional motifs such as the imperial chrysanthemum, executed by Kiyoshi Terui, who would later become one of Seiko’s master engravers. Rarely seen and quietly significant, the GBBD998 stands as a poetic expression of Japanese craftsmanship, blending technical refinement with timeless artistry.
